Reporting to the Controller, the A/P Supervisor will be responsible for the payables process in a high volume and fast-paced environment.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of all supplier and sub-contract invoices (2-3 thousand per month) and employee expense claims.
  • Responsible for providing training, supervision, direction and leadership to a group of 3-6 employees and ensure all work is being performed to standards.
  • Manage and comply with all month-end and year-end procedures and other company driven deadlines.
  • Analyze accounts payable processes, suggest improvements, and participate in the implementation of improvement projects.
  • Monitor payment process: ensure appropriate approval authority, general ledger coding, and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Provide analysis and reports to management.
  • Review credit issues and recommend solutions.
  • Maintain financial security by adhering to internal accounting controls.
  • Assist with preparation of information/data for various government entities and external auditors in the annual audit of the financial records.
  • Effectively communicate all policy or procedural changes to staff and managers.
  • Promote a positive attitude and environment, and encourage and maintain the team's motivation.
  • Effectively communicate with the estimators, purchasers and other members of the team to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Assist in creating, meeting and exceeding KPI's for processing time, on-time payments and accuracy.

​Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to communicate and work with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance.
  • Computer skills: MS Ofiice and MS Outlook. Excellent knowledge of financial applications.
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills.
